Jason is the founding director of Catalyst Finance Solutions, and established the practice in May, 2004 – with Matt Rigby joining as co-director in December, 2004.
Jason first began working in the finance industry in 1992, as one of only a handful of finance brokers operating in Perth at the time. He worked as a freelance broker in the Mandurah and Rockingham areas until late 1995, and then spent seven years at AMP, working as a mobile lender before his role as State Banking Manager. He then left AMP to establish his own mortgage broker business, Catalyst, bringing with him many loyal clients.
Jason enjoys the daily challenges of the finance industry and is always prepared to go that extra mile for his clients. Jason specializes in debt advice and commercial property finance, and holds a Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management, and a Diploma of Chemistry at Curtin University.
Matt is the co-director of Catalyst Finance Solutions, and joined the company in December, 2004.
Matt became involved in the mortgage industry in 1992, when the industry was in its infancy. He worked for several broking companies through the 1990s, and in 2000 joined one of Perth’s largest building companies, arranging finance for their customers. He became an expert in building, construction, and development finance., and branched out into a Business Development role – forging strong relationships with large business partners.
Matt holds a Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management and is very conscious of maintaining contact with his customers whilst managing and running the business alongside Jason.

Martin grew up in a small town in Sarawak, Malaysia and moved to Perth in 1999.
He studied engineering and finance at Curtin University of Technology before joining the financial services industry in 2007, and then the Catalyst Finance team in late 2010.
Friendly, knowledgable and efficient, he is experienced in all facets of finance. He has guided many first home buyers with their first purchase, helped property investors minimised costs and maximised borrowing capacity, as well as financed multi-unit developments and business purchases.
He is a proud father of two young boys. So while he is not chauffeuring his kids around or attending to their curious minds, he can be found training for the next City2Surf.
He is also a Manchester United supporter, enjoys a glass of fine wine or a cup of aromatic coffee, and listens to various podcasts whilst driving.
Vyanne hails from Langkawi , a renowned tourist destination in Malaysia.
She came to Perth in 2004, and studied accounting at the Curtin University of Technology.
She worked for 2 multi award winning mortgage brokerages prior to joining the Catalyst team in 2015.
As the office manager, she organises everything from our quarterly newsletter to various compliance documents. She also ensures the office nibblies are constantly topped up!
Outside of work, she enjoys cooking for her husband Martin (one of our brokers!) and their 2 beautiful sons Lucas and Louis.
Cass is one of the founding members of Catalyst Finance and she has played a pivotal part in driving the business. Since inception, she has helped build the business into what it is today. Her innovative thinking, proactive approach and unmatched commitment motivates the whole crew, even on a rainy Monday morning.
Starting off in a General Manager role, she’s now focused on managing accounts, bookkeeping and her wonderful family of four. Cass is a qualified bookkeeper, juggling the numbers like no other.
Janet Hryb has been in the Settlement Industry since 1993.
Janet not only has extensive conveyancing experience, but is someone who possesses strong management skills and a passion to ensure the client has a great experience from beginning to end.
Janet is a Past Councillor & Vice President with the Australian Institute of Conveyancers here in WA, and enjoys giving back some of her knowledge to the industry.
Janet is an immediate past committee member of the Property Industry Advisory Committee (PIAC) which provides advice to the Minister and Commissioner of Consumer Protection on the regulations of licensed property professionals in Western Australia.
Janet felt with her knowledge of working with the banks on the settlement side, she could learn the beginning of the role the broker & banks played to ensure the client is looked after the whole way through and ongoing. Janet holds an Australian Credit License and soon a Diploma in Finance.
Janet is a mum to 2 beautiful children, Callum aged 12 & Reegan aged 10. Janet enjoys relaxing by walking, bike riding, and reading novels.
Sonia has been in financial services for over 10 years, working in home loans and customer service. Her home loan lending career started at Western Homebuyers which was an agent for Keystart Home Loans, organizing government assisted home loans for first homebuyers. She then moved to the NAB group in various lending roles. Sonia likes to keep busy and works part time to fit in the nurturing and caring for her Primary School aged son. Working school hours helps to keep her work/life balance, as well as challenging her brain on a daily basis. Outside of work she keeps active and enjoys playing netball, Yoga and long coffee catch ups. Sonia has proven to be a valuable team member in her time with Catalyst.
